Kabaddi WC from Feb 9
LAHORE: The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) has confirmed the organissation of the fourth edition of the Kabaddi World Cup 2020 in Lahore from February 9. As many as 10 teams will take part in the mega event and are divided into two groups, A and B. Defending champions India, Iran, Sierra Leone, England and USA are in Group A while home team Pakistan, Canada, Kenya, Australia, and Azerbaijan are in Group B. Three cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, and Nankana Sahib are all set to host the extravaganza. Preparations are in full swing for the event. The event will start with a mesmerising opening ceremony in Lahore which will be followed by an exhibition match between the Pakistan Women team and the Azerbaijan Women team. Later, the home side Pakistan will take on Canada in the opening match of the tournament on the same day. It must be noted here that the last three Kabaddi World Cups were won by India in 2004, 2007 and 2016 respectively.
