Qazi Hussain Ahmad paid tribute
LAHORE:Politicians, religious leaders and journalists paid tribute to the services of Jamaat-e-Islami former ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad on his death anniversary.
JI ameer Senator Sirajul Haq while talking to media said Qazi Hussain’s services for the freedom of Kashmir would always be remembered. Addressing a ceremony held here at Mansoora, JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim said Qazi Hussain was the great advocate of unity among Muslim world. During his entire life, he made tireless efforts to achieve this objective, he added.
Azeem said uniting the religious parties of all schools of thought at the platforms of Mutahida Majlise Amal and Milli Yakjehti Council was one of Qazi’s greatest achievements. He said the former JI leader made the Jamaat vocal and active against tyranny and injustice.
Senior journalist Sohail Warraich was of the view that Qazi Hussain introduced a major change in JI narrative and played a vital role in improving people’s perception about the Jamaat. JI Deputy Chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz, Kashmiri leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi, JUP leader Qari Zawar Bahadur, JI Lahore chapter Emir Zikrullah Mujahid and Qazi Hussain Ahmed’s son Asif Luqman Qazi also spoke on occasion. People from all walks of life, including the JI leaders Hafiz Idrees, Abdul Ghaffar Abid and Mian Shafique attended the event.
Meanwhile, Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) leaders, Sahibzada Abual Khair Zubair, Senator Sirajul Haq, Haroon Gilani and Allama Sajid Naqvi have decided to call the meeting of the Milli Yakjehti Council on 13th January at Mansoora.
