Three arrested for robbery at PM Imran Khan’s nephew house

LAHORE:Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three dacoits involved in looting the house of nephew of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed shared details with the media at a press conference held at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh here. DIGs Rai Babar Saeed, Dr Inam Waheed, SSP Zeshan Asghar, CTO Malik Liaqat, SP CIA Asim Iftikhar and other senior police officers were present at the press conference.

CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed said three dacoits entered the house of Sher Shah Khan, nephew of PM, on Jan 4 late night and took family members hostage on a gunpoint. They looted cash, jewellery, mobile phones and antique pistols worth Rs 1200,000.

Three police teams were constituted who managed to arrest three alleged dacoits identified as Mehmood Ahmed, Kazim alias Kaka and Fahad. Mehmood and Kazim are brothers and Fahad was their partner who lived near the house of Sher Shah Khan, he said.

“Hundred per cent recovery was made by the police, the CCPO said. The CCPO told the media that three other dacoits involved in murder-cum-dacoity incident were also arrested by CIA police. He said three dacoits on January 2 entered the office of a multinational company at Kacha Jail Road, killed security guard, Inam Gul, and fled in a vehicle of the company with looted cash and cellphones.

With the help of the CCTV footage and advanced technology, police teams successfully arrested three alleged dacoits Hammad alias Sher Khan, Haider alias Pania and Rashid Ali and recovered looted valuables, the CCPO said.

He said police teams under the supervision of DIG investigation worked day and night to arrest the accused and announced commendation certificates and cash reward for the police teams. To a question, the CCPO said security of US and Iranian installations has been increased in the wake of current tension between the two countries.
