Four cops hurt as mob torch van in Darra Adamkhel

KOHAT: Four cops sustained injuries after protesters torched a police van during protest rally taken out against the Fata’s merger in Darra Adamkhel on Sunday.

The sources said that the people of Sheraki tribe in Darra Adamkhel staged a protest against the merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They said that the protesters threw stones at the police officials present on the occasion and torched the official van. The injured cops, including Station House Officer Waqar Khan and Moharrir Muhammad Khan, were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kohat.

It was learnt that some of the people of five tribes in Darra Adamkhel had decided to continue protest against the merger. PPP LEADER’S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Lower Dir chapter, on Sunday celebrated the 92nd birthday of the party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

In this connection, a cake cutting ceremony was arranged at district press club Timergara, where PPP district president and former provincial minister Mahmood Zeb Khan, former minister for state Malik Azmat Khan, joint secretary Sher Muhammad, information secretary Alamzeb advocate and former nazim Najeebullah addressed the event.
