Nadir, Eraj win titles in Tennis Championship
KARACHI: Hyderabad’s Nadir Bachani and Eraj Batool of Iqra University clinched men and women singles’ titles, respectively, in 60th Sindh Sports Board Development Series Ranking Tennis Championship here at Union Club on Saturday.
In the final of men’s event, Nadir thrashed Muhammad Ali of Army by 6-1, 6-1. In women’s event, Eraj overpowered Natalia Zaman by 8-2.
Ghufran Faiz secured the top position in under-17 singles event, which was contested on round robin basis. Abdul Samad Areejo from Hyderabad came second. In under-11 singles final, Sameer Zaman defeated Ibrahim Qureshi by 4-2, 4-1.
Zayed Zaman overpowered Ibrahim Saad by 4-1, 4-1 to win the under-9 singles title. Zayed also won the under-7 singles title, beating Naail Shamsi by 12-10, 10-8.
