Police stations given fax, photocopy machines

DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf has taken another initiative to solve the issue of photocopies of FIRs and other necessary documents by providing fax machines and photocopy machines at Circle Offices and police stations phase-wise.
Dr Haider Ashraf said this initiative has been take to facilitate citizens and policemen as well to save their time. He added that a PC-I has been forwarded to the authority concerned for approval so that these machines could be provided at every police station. He expressed these views while providing fax and photocopy machines at the office of SDPO Rang Mahal. He further told media that he has also ordered SP Headquarters to plan mess and buses for the convenience of policemen across the City. DIG said that such initiatives would help boosting the morale of police force.
ARMS SEIZED: Investigations Wing of Lahore Police claimed to have recovered five Kalashnikovs, 36 heavy rifles including 7MM and 223 bore, rifles and bullets and cartridges worth more than Rs 50 lakh during last two weeks during special campaign under national action plan launched against those possessing illegal weapons throughout the city. Police teams of different police stations including Shahdra, Lari Adda, Bhati Gate, Masti Gate, Yaki Gate, Tibi City, Shafiqa Abad, Naulakha, Ravi Road, Data Darbar, Islam Pura, Gawalmandi, Misri Shah, Mustafa Town, Johar Town, Factory Area, Defence A, Harbans Pura and Barki arrested 73 criminals and recovered firearms of more than Rs 50 lakh from their possession. SSP Investigation Rana Ayyaz Saleem stressed the need upon police to further expedite the campaign against illegal arms, complete the investigation of the cases immediately and solve the problems of common citizens.
571 ACCIDENTS REPORTED: At least 571 accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which 7 lives were lost during these traffic accidents in different districts of Punjab and 493 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 182 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.
