ABBOTTABAD: Galiyat received snowfall on Friday followed by rain in Nathiagali, Ayubia, Thandiyani and other hilly areas of Abbottabad, bringing the mercury down. Ahsan Hameed, the spokesperson for the Galiyat Development Authority, said that Abbottabad to Murree Road had been cleared to traffic. However, he added that ta land-sliding had struck Changla Gali and machinery had been deployed to ensure the flow of traffic. A large number of tourists reached Galiyats, including Nathiagali, Donga Gali, Ayubia and Changla Gali after the road was cleared to traffic by removing the snow. One feet snow was recorded in Galiyat and Thandiyani where the road from Kala Panniwas closed to traffic and the Communications and Works Department officials were working to clear the Abbottabad-Thandiyani road as it fell in the jurisdiction of the C&W. The official said that the presence of the maintenance and other staff members would be ensured and facilitation centres established at different points with the collaboration of Galiyat and Abbottabad police to facilitate the tourists by giving them information about the weather and roads conditions.
