Criminal gang busted

Islamabad : Shalimar Police has arrested a gang of street criminals and recovered, motorbike and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said.

He said that, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan had ordered crackdown against criminals specially involved in street crime. Following these orders DIG (Operations) Waqar Ud din Syed has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city and no laxity would be tolerated in this regard.

Following these directions, SP (Sadder) Muhammad Omer Khan constituted special teams under supervision of SDPO Shalimar Rana Abdul Wahab including SHO Shalimar Police Station Inspector Malik Basheer, ASIs Javed Iqbal and Ghulam Abbass along with other officials. Police team successfully busted three members of a street criminals gang identified as Shahrukh Khan resident of district Mardan, Sheraz Tamaz resident of district Mansehra and Kamran Khan resident of Sector G-9/2.

Police team also recovered two pistols along with ammunition and Honda 125 Motorbike from their possession. The nabbed persons, during preliminary investigation have confessed that they were involved in several incidents in areas of Shalimar, Ramna and Karachi Company police stations. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway.

IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar Ud Din Syed have appreciated overall performance of Shalimar Police and announced commendation certificates along with cash rewards for policemen who arrested these gangsters.
