MINGORA: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial head Amir Muqam on Thursday announced three-day mourning over the killing of the party local leader Feroz Shah Khan advocate.
Talking to the media after the funeral prayers for the slain PML-N leader at Damghar area of Swat district, Amir Muqam said that the provincial government had failed in providing security to the citizens.
He said lawlessness and insecurity were increasing in the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “The assassination of Feroz Shah is a question mark over the performance of law-enforcement agencies. Feroz Shah was a patriotic Pakistani, who always struggled for the peace and security in the area,” he added.
He questioned the performance of law enforcement agencies and asked the government how the culprits escaped within no time. “The PML-N demands immediate action against the culprits, who must be arrested and punished as per the law,” Amir Muqam said, adding the PML-N would observe three-day mourning over the gruesome murder of the senior party leader.
A former member of Swat District Council, Feroz Shah Khan advocate, was assassinated by unidentified assailants on Wednesday. He was a senior lawyer, and former president at District Bar Association, Swat.
Feroz Shah contested elections on PML-N ticket from NA-4, against Pakistan Tereek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Murad Saeed in July 2018 general elections.
He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Damghar in Kabal. A large number of people attended his funeral prayers.
