RWMC urged to improve standard of sanitation

Rawalpindi : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Captain (r) Muhammad Mehmood directed officials of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) to further improve the standard of sanitation in Rawalpindi and no area should be left un-cleaned.

He issued these instructions during detailed visit of the offices of RWMC on Tuesday. RWMC Managing Director Awais Manzoor Tarar accompanied him.

Reviewing the progress of on-going activities and functions of the company, Commissioner Rawalpindi said that there is always room for improvement in all sections and it is necessary that efforts should be made to come to the expectations of citizens. He said sanitation is directly linked with climate change and environmental degradation besides viral diseases and it is duty of all individuals to help in maintaining the high standard of sanitation.

He said special emphasis should be laid to keep entire rout and stations of Metro Bus Service neat and clean because large numbers of people daily use mass transit facility and they should be given a neat environment. Matters pertaining to identification of temporary transit areas of solid waste in tehsils of Rawalpindi also came under discussion and it was directed that solid waste should be shifted to proper damping sites. Commissioner Rawalpindi asked to ensure regularity and punctuality of officials and appropriate app should be installed to keep the record and data of attendance.

He also directed for initiating preparation of uniform for staff members and said that revenue generation should also be focused.
