SUKKUR: Kashmore Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested members of a jirga, which declared a seven-year-old girl Vani, daughter of Makhno, a man who was alleged suspect of ‘Karo’. Reports said a jirga was held in Kashmore to settle a case of honour, which declared a seven-year-old girl Vani, an arranged or forced child marriage, decided by a council of tribal elders.
The jirga also imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 million on Makhno, an alleged suspect of ‘Karo’.Reports said a few months ago, Fajulo Bajkani had shot dead his wife after declaring her a ‘Kari’ and accused a man, Makhno Bajkani, a ‘Karo’. SSP Kashmore took notice of the decision of jirga and ordered the concerned police station to register an FIR and to ensure arrest of all accused.
