Video surfaces showing woman being robbed outside DHA house in Karachi

Incidents of crimes, particularly street crimes, are on the rise in the city, especially in District South, as another video circulating on social media showed on Wednesday that the armed motorcyclists looted jewellery and cash from a woman outside her residence in Defence Housing Authority.

The video showed that three men riding two motorcycles surrounded a Toyota Corolla car when it just pulled up outside a bungalow on Saba Avenue within the limits of the Darakhshan police station.

One of the robbers deprived the woman of her jewellery and other valuables at gunpoint. The outlaws then fled the scene. Police said the incident had occurred on December 1 and further investigations were underway.

Robber beaten

A suspected robber was caught and beaten up by citizens in the Sharfabad locality on Wednesday. Two men riding a motorcycle were trying to rob citizens who were having breakfast by the roadside.

Police said that one of the suspects managed to escape, while another was caught by citizens after the latter resisted the mugging bid. video circulating on social media shows about half a dozen people beating up the suspect.Police later reached the crime scene and lodged a case.
