National art exhibition continues at Alhamra

LAHORE: The second annual Alhamra National Exhibition organised by the Lahore Arts Council continued at Alhamra Art Gallery here on Monday.

Minister for Industry and Trade Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal saw the exhibition along with Secretary Information Raja Jhangir and Executive Director Alhamra Athar Ali Khan. On the occasion, Aslam Iqbal said, “I congratulate all the participants for their great participation and I also appreciate the efforts of Lahore Arts Council to organise such events for the public, especially for our youths. I am thrilled to witness the diverse vision of artists regarding perception of society, culture, politics, social issues, art-making and various other genres of arts in their artworks.” More than 250 artworks by 145 artists from different regions of Pakistan are being displayed. The works are a great combination of veteran and senior artists like distinguished artist Saeed Akhtar Sahab, RM Naeem, Mian Ejazul Hassan, Dr. Ajaz Anwar, Shahid Jalal, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, Ali Kazim, Dr Mussarat Hassan, Mehboob Ali, Ghulam Mustafa, Jamil Baloch, Akram Dost Baloch, Shahnawaz Zaidi and Amna Pataudi and emerging artists. Executive Director, Alhamra, Athar Ali Khan said: “Our aim is to nurture our new generation’s creative abilities. LAC give its best to meet the expectation of people from Alhamra. Through this exhibition Alhamra provides a platform for the young and artistic youths to see the works of artists from all over Pakistan. I would like to thank all the participating artists for sending their artworks from all over Pakistan for their valuable time and efforts.
