LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid has directed a stern action against those who are not following the SOPs of hepatitis.
The decision to take action was taken in a meeting in which she reviewed the performance of Punjab Aids Control Programme.
Dr Yasmeen Rashid directed Special Secretary to remove officers who do not work. She said: “We are providing free facility of medicine and treatment to the hepatitis patients in Punjab from 121 centres. All officers have been directed to take stern action against barbers and beauty parlors for not following SOPs. All workers in hotels must be permitted to work after screening. All blood banks should be monitored to minimise the reasons for spreading hepatitis. Officers should make strategy after getting all history of hepatitis patients.” Special Secretary Ajmal Bhatti will monitor all activities of vertical programmes. Legislation must be completed soon to ensure SOPs. SMS being sent in affected areas of TB. Punjab Aids control programme being expanded on mega level, she said.
