A man was killed after a train hit him within the limits of the Landhi Railway police station. According to officials, the accident took place near the Landhi railway track.
Rescuers reached the site of the incident and took the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for carrying out medico-legal formalities. A police official said the deceased is yet to be identified, adding that the body has been shifted to the morgue pending identification.
Hit-and-runs
A 26-year-old man identified as Asif, son of Jafar Hussain, died in a hit-and-run on the ICI Bridge within the limits of the Baghdadi police station.
Officials said the victim’s body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi. They said the deceased was a resident of Orangi Town, adding that he was trying to cross the road when a speeding vehicle ran him over.
Similarly, a 50-year-old man identified as Rahim Bakhsh, son of Hussain, died on Hawkesbay Road within the jurisdiction of the Mauripur police station. His body was taken to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police said the deceased was a resident of the same area.
Separately, a 54-year-old man identified only as Khan died after a speeding vehicle ran him over in the Qayyumabad area of Korangi.
