Lahore CCPO among 18 senior cops transferred
LAHORE: In a bid to improve the efficiency of Punjab police, the provincial government transferred and posted 18 senior police officers across the province on Friday.
According to a notification, B.A Nasir, Lahore capital city police officer, has been transferred and posted as additional IG traffic vice Muhammad Farooq Mazhar who has been posted as RPO Sheikhupura replacing Sohail Habib Tajik, already transferred and posted as RPO Rawalpindi vice Capt (retd) Ehsan Tufail who has been posted as commandant of Police Training College, Lahore.
Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG, Police Information Techonolgy, has been transferred and posted as CCPO Lahore, Imran Mahmood, RPO Bahawalpur, as DIG Police Discipline & Inspection, Fayyaz Ahmed Dev, Commandant Police Training College Lahore as RPO Bahawalpur, Riffat Mukhtar, DIG Establishment, as RPO Faisalabad, Rai Babar Saeed, DIG Logistic & Procurement, Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, DIG Operations, as DIG Operations, Muhammad Ahsan Younas, DIG Discipline & Inspection, as CPO Rawalpindi vice Capt. (retd) Muhammad Faisal Rana who has been posted as DIG Logistic & Procurement.
Gohar Mushtaq Bhutta, DIG/ Commandant Police Training School, Multan, has been transferred and posted as CPO Gujranwala vice Dr Moeen Masood who has been directed to report to the S&GAD for further orders. Capt (r) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, DIG, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and Azhar Akram, CPO Faisalabad, have replaced each other. Shoaib Khurram, awaiting posting, has been posted as director police matters in the office of Overseas Pakistani Commission, Punjab.
The newly-appointed Lahore CCPO, Zulfiqar Hameed, has a vast experience of policing. He has worked as SSP Investigation Lahore, DIG Investigation Lahore and CCPO Lahore. Owing to his experience of policing in Lahore, he has been reposted as CCPO Lahore. Born in 1970, Zulfiqar Hameed joined police service in 1995 as ASP. He was promoted to the rank of SP in 2001 and he worked as SP CIA Lahore, Rawalpindi, DPO Nankana, CRO Lahore, AIG Operations, AIG Finance, AIG Vigilince, AIG Admin and SSP Punjab Highway Patrol.
In 2013 he was promoted to the rank of DIG and served as RPO Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, DIG Welfare and at other important positions at Central Police Office Lahore.
Meanwhile, the services of a number of police officers have been surrendered to the Establishment Division, Islamabad, and they have been relieved of their duties in Punjab. The officers are: Dr Moeen Saeed, PSP, BS-20,(awaiting posting) in the S&GAD, Capt (retd) Atta Muhammad, DIG Operation, CPO Punjab; Syed Ali Mohsin, PSP, BS-19, Maroof Masood Safdar, PSP, BS-19 (awaiting posting, Maria Mahmood, AIG Gender Crimes, CPO Punjab, and Shakir Ahmad Shahid, SP Intelligence, Special Branch.
