Transgender person beaten up in Korangi

A transgender person came under attack as unidentified people unleashed violence on him in Korangi on Friday.

According to the Industrial Area police, unidentified persons injured the transgender person by attacking him with batons and punches. The transgender person, namely Khushi, filed a complaint with police of the attack. However, he informed police officials that he had earlier lodged another complaint with police about receiving multiple threats from unidentified persons.

Police said the victim was a coordinator of the Transgender Association in Korangi. The incident took place near Korangi’s Darul Uloom, police added. Police said a case had been registered and further investigations are under way.

Man shot injured

A man was injured after muggers shot at him for resisting a robbery attempt in the city’s Malir district on Friday. According to police, the incident took place at Usman Town, Shah Faisal Colony, within the limits of Al-Falah police station.

The injured person was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment. He was identified as 28-year-old Naveed Latif. Police said cops visited the crime for evidence collection and that the man was shot at by muggers following he resisted their robbery bid. Police said a case had been registered and further investigations are under way.
