Hindu settlements in Held Kashmir not acceptable: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar

LAHORE:Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar has said that Indian plan to create Hindu settlements in occupied Kashmir on the pattern of Israel will tantamount to be a suicide attack on regional peace.

It will become difficult to avert war in the region, if United Nations (UN) and other international institutions do not take notice of this shameful plan of India, said Sarwar in a tweet and talking to PTI MPA Ch Shahbaz and Latter-day Saint Charity’s delegation led by its Chairman Imran Taj and others, who called on him here at Governor House Thursday.

The governor said the Indian Consul General Sundeep Chakarwarti has exposed the Indian plan of creating Hindu settlements in occupied Kashmir, which is in no way acceptable since it is a conspiracy to turn the Kashmiris’ majority into minority. He called upon the UN and other international organisations to take strict notice of this Indian plan. Pakistan always stood with people of Kashmir and every sacrifice will be rendered for the freedom of Kashmiris, he said.

Talking to Latter-day Saint Charity delegation, Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar said that clean drinking water will be made available to 20 million people of Punjab through Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority by Year 2020. While the companies providing sub-standard water will be taken to task for the first time in Punjab by imposing fines on such companies and over two-year imprisonment to their owners, he mentioned.

Ch Sarwar said that the government is also taking measures in education sector and all the appointments right from Vice Chancellor to the lower posts in universities are being made on merit and transparently, asserting that work has also been started to switch over the varsities to solar energy.

Meanwhile, Newly-appointed Punjab IGP Shoaib Dastgir called on the governor at Governor House.

Business Park: Punjab government Thursday approved provision of infrastructure to Quaid-e-Azam Business Park and Bahawalpur Business Park.

The approval was given in a meeting chaired by Industries and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal and attended by Secretary Industries and Trade Zafar Iqbal, Chairman PIEDMC Nabeel Hashmi, CEO PIEDMC, Additional Secretaries and officials concerned.

The meeting review planning for selling of plots for setting up industrial units and business model of Quaid-e-Azam Business Park. Aslam Iqbal said that Quaid-e-Azam Business Park will be set up on 15-acre land near Motorway at Sheikhupura and industrial units of all categories will also be established in this business park. He said state-of-the-art Quaid-e-Azam Business Park will become an important source to expedite industrial process. He directed that this project should be advanced ahead on speedy basis keeping in view its importance with regard to promoting business activities. Punjab government has planned to set up industrial estate in every division, he added. We will not let resources decrease for the provision of international standard infrastructure in industrial units, he concluded. Earlier, the Chairman PIEDMC Nabeel Hashmi gave a detailed briefing about matters relating to industrial estates and future projects. He further apprised that special economic zone conference will be held for making consultations with stakeholders in the month of December in Lahore.

Railway land: On the Direction of Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railways Lahore, Amir Nisar Chaudhry, AEN Faisalabad Tausif Zafar launched an operation against encroachment at Faisalabad section near parking stand with bulldozer and heavy machinery in the presence of DSP Lahore Rana Iftikhar along with Railway police.

Railway Land Measuring 57.19 Marla (commercial) Near Parking Stand, Faisalabad, was encroached in the shape of 145 Kucha Khokha shops. The Railway land has been retrieved and material confiscated on the spot.

The approximate cost of the commercial land is Rs154.13 million. DS Railway Amir Nisar Chaudhry appreciated the staff and said that operations would be continued in the future.
