Head Constable Imran Gujjar who ran a special police party in District East has been dismissed from service after being found guilty of making and releasing a controversial video of alleged Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London target killer Yousuf, alias Thelewala, in which he claimed to have links with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

He was found guilty in an inquiry report prepared by DIG East Zone Amir Farooqui who headed the four-member committee formed by the CM to inquire into the video release. Though the services of District East SSP Ghulam Azfar Mahesar have been surrendered to the federal government over serious misconduct in the aftermath of the release of the video, the inquiry report does not mention SSP Mahesar's involvement in hatching up the conspiracy against the CM.

“A video was made during police custody in Gujjar's cell phone,” the report reads. “The video was made and released in connivance with a media person to malign certain quarters of the government.”
