4m families in province given Sehat insaf cards: Yasmin

LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said the sehat insaf cards have been distributed in more than 4 million families across Punjab.

She stated this while presiding over a meeting at Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education building. Special Secretary Development Nadir Chattha, Special Secretary Salwat Saeed, Special Secretary Khalid Nazir Wattoo, Additional Secretary Development Dr Asif Tufail, Legal Adviser Mian Zahid Rehman, Additional Secretary Dr Salman Shahid, Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Aamir Zaman Khan, Allama Iqbal Medical College Principal Prof Dr Tajamal and other officers participated in the meeting.

Dr Yasmin Rashid reviewed the induction process of doctors in the department, administrative affairs of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute, referral clinics and distribution of the sehat insaf cards.

She said that sehat insaf cards had been distributed in more than 4 million families across Punjab. Gyneacologists, eye specialists, physicians and other specialists will perform their duties in the referral clinics. Data of all patients will be compiled in the referral clinics, she maintained. The people of Punjab will be provided with best treatment facilities at their doorstep, she said. PTI government is endeavouring to make PKLI beneficial for the common man.

Hundred per cent merit should be ensured during induction process of doctors. Data of patients will be compiled in respect of their diseases in the referral clinics, she concluded. Meanwhile, Dr Yasmin Rashid has taken notice of the scuffle between doctors and lawyers at Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).

She directed Chief Cardiologist Prof Dr Saqib Shafi to probe the incident and submit a detailed report to her. No one will be allowed to spoil environment of hospitals. Stern action should be taken against those found guilty during the investigation process, she directed the authorities concerned.
