Q1: Dear Abidi Sb, I have done Bachelors in Accounting and Finance. It’s an Honours degree and I studied it from Malaysia. I am also ACCA finalist. I will be appearing in my three last papers shortly. I want to do further studies from abroad on economical and low-cost basis. I would appreciate your suggestion for choosing which discipline and destination I should get the specialisation done to enhance my career prospects. (Fakhar Afzal, Karachi)

Ans: As I don’t know what is your budget for foreign studies but for top universities with Financial Risk Management masters you would definitely have better career prospects and it will add up to your previous academic qualifications. I wish you best of luck in your career goals.

Q2: Respected sir, I completed my Computer Engineering from Lahore. My Project Management Masters is in progress right now which I am doing from Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi. I work as a Project Coordinator in a local firm. Please advise what I should do after this. My degree will be completed in a few months’ time. (Zaamin Chaudhry, Lahore)

Ans: In my opinion you must complete your current degree successfully with high grades as you are going in the right direction. After this you should gain some experience related to your particular field/ department. Once you have your studies completed and some practical experience only then you should look for better opportunities in foreign countries and you will have more bright chances for success in future.

Q3: Dear Mr Abidi, I am a student of Bachelors (an Honours degree) from Islamabad. My major subject is Education. Now I wish to pursue a specialisation in Career Counselling and Guidance. I will appreciate you can please guide me from where I should study this kind of masters. (Sunbal Rana, Islamabad)

Ans: Please note that you can do MS Career Counselling and Education. This degree is now being taught at National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad. You can also do dissertation in counselling in your current degree i.e. Bachelors in Education.

Q4: Sir, your expert advice and opinion is requested for education and future career prospects. I am doing 2nd semester of Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electronic. I am doing this from a local institution. (Muzammil Rehman, Faisalabad)

Ans: I think you should complete Bachelor’s degree in Electronics after which my suggestion to you would be to do a master’s in Telecommunication with Wireless Engineering. This will surely help in enhancing your academic qualifications and give you better professional career scope/ prospects. I think my guidance will be helpful in making quick decision.
