Govt has allowed Nawaz to go abroad, says Siraj
MULTAN: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq has said that the government has allowed former PM Mian Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for medical treatment.
Talking to journalists at the residence of Dr Safdar Iqbal Hashmi on Friday, Sirajul Haq said that the government was now avoiding taking responsibility of the decision. He prayed for the early health recovery of Nawaz Sharif.
He said that the government’s cabinet members say that tomato is available at Rs 17 per kg and peas at 5 per kg, which was pathetic. The PTI had promised to make the south Punjab province after coming into power, but the government had failed to honour its commitments even after passing of 15 months, he said. The education system in the south Punjab was in vulnerable condition, he told.
He said that the people of the south Punjab, being most neglected region of the area, were unable to get fruits of their produces. The JI always fought for the rights of the south Punjab people and highlighted the problems of this region, he claimed. He said that PPP, PML-N and PTI were doing politics in the name of the south Punjab province. All three political parties had failed in resolving the problems of Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan, he added. Sirajul Haq said that majority of the members of the PTI government were a part of the past governments. He said that the JI was the only party which could change the fate of the people. He rejected the Presidential System and said it destabilised the country during Ayyub Khan’s era.
OppOSITION: Opposition parties at a public meeting have criticised the performance of the government and said it has failed to give any kind of relief to people.
The public meeting was arranged by JUI-F at Chowk Manzoorabad in connection with plan ‘C’ of their Azadi March and the opposition parties, including Pakistan People’s Party and PML-N participated in it.
