PDWP approves 20 projects

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday approved 20 projects worth Rs8176.285 million and one project was deferred due to inadequate design.

An official communiqué said Additional Chief Secretary Atif Rehman chaired the meeting, which was attended by members of PDWP, concerned departments and districts level officers of merged areas.

The forum considered 21 projects about different sectors, including agriculture, home, Higher Education and Health, for the uplift of the province and merged areas.

It approved 20 projects and one project was deferred due to inadequate design and was returned to its respective department for rectification.

The approved projects included the accelerated implementation programme (AIP) and 10 Years Development Programme (TYDP) worth Rs945 million.

The programme would help to bring the merged areas on a par with the rest of the province, said the statement.

The approved projects of Agriculture sector are: Establishment and construction/re-construction of veterinary facilities and provision of de-wormer vaccine, medicine for all existing regular veterinary institutions in tribal districts; Creation of Disease Free Zone through mass Vaccination and Treatment in feasible districts on pilot basis; Opening of 3-Cvds, 23-Vcs, 16-aics and up-gradation of 1-Cvd Lakaro To CVH status, Mohmand district; Opening of 8-veterinary centres and 08-Aics IN Fr Lakki; Opening of 41 Veterinary Centers, 22 AICs and Upgradation of 01 Cvd to CVH status in SWA; opening of 3-Cvcs, 09-AICs and Upgradation of 4-Cvds to CVH Status in Orakzai district; Opening of 05 CVDs, 05 CVCs, O6 AICs, & Upgradation of 2 CVDs to CVHs Status Bajaur.
