Motorway help

It goes without saying that the Motorway brought a welcome change in our travel modes. After entering the Motorway, one heaves a sigh of relief because everyone travelling here strictly observes traffic rules owing to the vigilant motorway personnel. Moreover, it provides quick and comfortable travelling facilities. The reason the Motorway Police stand out is their practice of adherence to rules and regulations. The motorway authorities leave no leaf upturned to ensure the writ of the law. Their uncompromising way of working makes even unruly drivers disciplined and orderly.

But, while travelling from Mianwali to Lahore this past Sunday, we faced a terrible traffic jam near the Ravi Toll Plaza. Mismanagement on the part of the motorway authorities was at peak. Tens of hundreds of vehicles were stuck in the gridlock. It took us almost 35 minutes to cover a distance of 500 metres to cross the toll plaza. While paying the toll tax, we asked the tax collector why there was such a messy situation near the toll plaza. He replied it was because of the weekend. That means the motorway authorities are well aware of the issue but they are ignoring it on purpose. To facilitate the motorway-users, the authorities should increase the number of tax booths. In future, owing to a ballooning population, this issue will deteriorate further. It is hoped that the incumbent shareholders will act proactively to sort out this issue before it gets too late.
