PKI announces sit-in outside Parliament House on 28th
MULTAN: Pakistan Kissan Ittehad (PKI) president Khalid Khokhar Wednesday said peasants from across Punjab would stage a sit-in outside Parliament House on November 28 against the government policies about farmers.
Addressing Kissan Kashkool march outside the Multan Press Club, the PKI president said the PKI has rejected continuous rise in electricity tariff for farmers.
He asked farmers not to pay electricity bills.
The farmers were carrying sugarcane sticks in their hands and burnt electricity bills.
Khokhar said farmers across the province are attending the Kashkool marches against the government policies. He said on November 27 the farmers would organise a protest of thousands of farmers in Lahore as a rehearsal for November 28 sit-in. He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has harmed interests of farmers.
