Economic role of women highlighted
LAHORE:Pakistan Council of Islamic Ideology Chairman Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz has stressed the need for acknowledging the economic role of women in society. He was addressing inaugural ceremony of two-day Seerat Conference on the problems faced women and their solutions in the light of teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) organised by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s Seerat Chair at Punjab University Institute of Islamic Studies at Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre Auditorium.
Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhter, Iqbal Trust UK Chairman Dr Muhammad Arif Khan, Chairperson of Seerat Chair Dr Shahida Parveen and a large number of students were also present. Dr Qibla Ayaz said, “We did not identify the role of women in society in an appropriate manner.” He said that women had played important role in agricultural and industrial revolutions.
