IG Arif Nawaz Khan for making complaint centre effective

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Captain (r) Arif Nawaz Khan has said that calls made by the aggrieved applicants on the 8787 complaint centre should be received with good behaviour and efforts should be made with a commitment to address the complaints.

Steps should be taken to integrate the 8787 complaint centre with emergency helpline 15 for the convenience of citizens, said the IG during his visited to the 8787 IGP complaint centre. He said a strategy should be devised to enhance the working hours of the 8787 complaint centre.

DIG: DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan has directed the divisional SPs to speed up the measures to control crime in the City. Chairing a crime review meeting, Ashfaq Khan said general hold-ups should be conducted at important points of the City on a regular basis. He said flag marches should be a regular feature to create a sense of protection among the citizens.

There should be no pending references pertaining to Prime Minister Delivery Unit (PMDU), Helpline 8787 and Complaint Management System, he said. FIRs should promptly be registered in cases of molestation of underage children, and on violation of the laws on registration of tenants and use of loudspeaker, he stated.

CCPO office: A delegation of participants of 46th Specialized training programme under National Police Academy has called CCPO Lahore BA Nasir at latter's office here on Wednesday.

Under-training ASPs of Police Service of Pakistan were warmly received on their arrival at CCPO office. DIGs Ashfaq Khan, Inam Waheed, CTO Malik Liaqat, SSPs Athar Waheed, Muhammad Naveed and other senior police officers were present during the meeting. SSP Admin Athar Waheed briefed the delegation about functioning of various departments under CCPO Lahore. During the questions & answers session CCPO Lahore BA Nasir has advised young ASPs to always go according to book and learn from their mistakes. "I felicitate you for joining best service in Pakistan. Always give priority to service of general public and honesty" urged the CCPO.

kite flying: DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan has directed all the divisional SPs to takes stern action against kite flyers, sellers and manufacturers. The DIG directed the officers to constitute special monitoring teams to ensure ban impose on kite flying.

Transferred: IGP Arif Nawaz Khan has issued orders of transfer and posting of six police officers on Wednesday. SP Investigation Civil Lines Lahore Furqan Bilal has been posted as SP Cantt Lahore while Safdar Raza Kazmi has been posted as SP Operations City Division Lahore. SP Syed Ghazanfar Shah has been posted as SP Sadar Operations while Bilal Zafar Sheikh as SP Security Lahore. SSP Admin CTD Mustafa Hameed Malik has been posted as SSP Technical CTD Punjab Lahore. SDPO Karor Laal Eesan Layyah, Liaqat Ali Tarar has been posted as SDPO Kalor Kot Bhakkar.

crackdown: Civil lines division, in a crackdown, claimed to have arrested 97 criminals. Police also seized 14 pistols, one gun, more than 1-kg charas, 200 gram heroin and 40 litre liquor from the accused.

Cleanliness: On the instruction of the commissioner, Ahmed Raza Butt, administrator general bus stand, Badamibagh took action on Wednesday for smooth traffic flow and cleanliness inside the bus stand.

Nine buses were impounded from illegal parking stands and illegal hidden bus stands. Poultry vehicles parked illegally in the bus stand were found and four vehicles were impounded by the administrator from the illegal parking.

The administrator told The News that Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) staffers were asked to ensure cleanliness in the bus stand. Dumping containers were cleared at the bus stop. The administrator imposed fine on each bus of Rs 5,000.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Children’s Day, Albayrak waste management company arranged a special cleanliness and awareness drive in front of National Park, Kalma Chowk.

The drive was aimed promoting the eco-friendly measures for a sustainable environment for the children. The Albayrak team and other participants in the event distributed cloth bags, plants and awareness leaflets among the citizens, urging the people not to use the polythene bags which were damaging the environment.

PSCA: Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) with its intended premier security projects across the provincial terrain has become an inevitable deterrence to terrorism and crime as it is widely acclaimed a pivotal step towards the restoration of peace. The authority's emergency response mechanism is commendable.

These views were expressed by delegation chief of under-training ASPs during an informative visit to PSCA. The delegation was briefed by COO Akbar Nasir Khan and CAO Muhammad Kamran Khan.
