Man kills sister over choice marriage at Manga Mandi

LAHORE:A man killed his sister over contracting love marriage in the Manga Mandi police limits on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Sadia. Police said the woman had contracted love marriage six months ago against the will of her brother Azhar. On the day of the incident, Azhar invited her to his house and attacked her with a knife. As a result, she suffered multiple injuries. She was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Police reached the scene and collected evidences. The accused fled the scene. Further investigation is underway.

murdered: An addict killed another addict with the blows of a knife in the Shafiqabad police area on Tuesday. Police said the victim was spotted in a pool of blood by a passerby. Police collected evidences from the crime scene. A police official said the victim looked a drug addict. It was suspected his some friend killed him. Further investigation is underway. The body was removed to morgue.

PSCA: A delegation of Saudi Arabian government organisation the Madina Region Development Authority (MDA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore Director General Saleem Shahzad visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Tuesday.

They were received and briefed by PSCA Chief Operating Officer Akbar Nasir Khan and Chief Administration Officer Muhammad Kamran Khan. The delegates were shown round various sections of the authority.

They were briefed about the provision of electronic data evidence and footages to various law enforcement agencies in addition to investigative wings of police.

The NAB Lahore DG and Saudi delegates were informed about the monitoring for security purpose with the help of cameras. The delegation appreciated the technology and practices at the PSCA. The delegates were informed about the Intelligent Traffic Management System and Electronic Challaning. They showed keen interest in the unprecedented facial recognition technology buttressed with swift and automated police interception protocols. They termed PPIC3 a monumental achievement towards integrated policing in Punjab.

The Saudi Arabian delegation chief said, “We are focused on developing the city of Madina, which has nearly 1.3 million residents.
