Four perish in road accident

SUKKUR: Four including two women and a child were killed and 10 others injured when a bus carrying 45 passengers, overturned and rapidly caught fire at the Multan-Sukkur Motorway near Ghotki on Tuesday.

The passenger coach, which was travelling from Bannu to Karachi, overturned and caught fire at the Multan-Sukkur Motorway near Mirpur Mathello, Ghotki. Four people, including Ummar Gul Bibi, Khandan Bibi, Farhan Shah and a child Aleena, were killed and 10 others were injured. The police and volunteers from the surrounding area rushed to the site of the accident, doused the fire and removed the dead and injured from the bus. The bodies and injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Mirpur Mathelo, and Rahimyar Khan Hospital. The police held the driver of the coach responsible for the accident saying he had fallen asleep which led to the accident.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed in Jarwar near Ghotki. According to police, two brothers Nizamuddin Mochi and Imamuddin Mochi fought over a disputed piece of property in which the latter’s wife Mst Sardara was killed. The police shifted the body to a local hospital and are tracing the accused killer.
