BARA: The Qabail Qaumi Tehreek leaders on Sunday rejected the bills passed by the KP Assembly about mines and minerals in erstwhile Fata.
Speaking at a press conference in Bara Press Club, Munsif Ali Khan, Noor Muhammad Afridi and others criticised the provincial government for passing the bill to declare the mines and minerals in former Fata as the government property. They added that the bill was illegal and unconstitutional.
Munsif Ali claimed even the opposition members in the assembly had also protested against the bill. He maintained that the tribal people had already suffered in prolonged militancy but the government did not honour the promises made with the people before the merger.
The Qabail Qaumi Tehreek office-bearers said they would use every forum against the illegal acts on the part of the provincial government. “We want the government should create job opportunities but the PTI government has already snatched the jobs from the tribal people,” Munsif Ali alleged.
