Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar rules outin-house change
LAHORE:Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that Chaudhry Brothers are confidant ally of the government and stated that reservations among allies are common things.
Everyone must keep in mind that there is neither any in-house change on the cards nor the government is going elsewhere. People have given us mandate for five years. The government and the Armed Forces are on the same page for stability and development of Pakistan, said the governor while talking to media after inaugurating IRWA filtration plant in Izmir Town here Sunday.
The governor on the occasion said that Lahore High Court decision was not a matter of success or defeat between the government and the opposition and we fully honour the court’s decision. Counterfeit companies operating in the name of safe drinking water are warned to refrain from such practices; otherwise, huge fine will be imposed on filtration companies supplying substandard water and the responsible persons in this regard will face strict action, including two years of imprisonment, he said.
Punjab Governor said that reservations and grievances among allies were not happened in Pakistan only but in the entire world. Allies can give their viewpoint and so far as Chaudhry Brothers are concerned, they are very much standing by the government, and the government is also taking along all its allies. He said that federal government had permitted Nawaz Sharif’s medical treatment abroad solely on humanitarian grounds and when he fell ill the government provided him best possible medical treatment here. From the day first, he said, the government has been giving assurance that it will not obstruct the process of sending Nawaz Sharif abroad for medical treatment.
The Lahore High Court has permitted Nawaz Sharif to get medical treatment abroad and it is not a matter of win or defeat between government and the opposition, he said adding that the PML-N leadership had submitted a written assurance to the court of law and we also want Nawaz Sharif to come back after his recovery. He said that those dreaming of in-house change would get nothing but disappointment and the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan would complete its constitutional term of five years at all costs, while the next general election will be held as per its appropriate time.
Chaudhry Sarwar assured that promise of provision of safe drinking water to people of Punjab would be fulfilled through Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority during next four years. He said there was no doubt in it that 50 percent of the people of Punjab were falling prey to hepatitis and other fatal diseases due to consumption of contaminated water and we have to save them by all means. He said that Aab-e-Pak Authority without having any government funding had started provision of safe drinking water to the masses just with the help of philanthropists, and IRWA filtration plant was also a component of this process.
He said that Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority would not only register all the filtration plants but also ensure their continuous monitoring across Punjab, besides imposing heavy fine and taking strict action against companies supplying substandard water to the people.
IRWA Chairman Mian Ahsan, Haji Naimatullah Khan, Mian Talat and others were also present on this occasion.
Governor stresses Muslim unity to resolve issues: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that all the challenges faced by Muslim Ummah globally could be addressed if they show unity in their ranks.
Addressing the ‘Wahdat Conference’ held under the aegis of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Sunday, the governor said that all the prevailing challenges faced by the Muslims worldwide, whether related to the Indian brutality in Held Kashmir or the freedom of Jerusalem, could be addressed through Muslim unity. Noted religious figures, including head of MWM Raja Nasir Abbas, Dr Raghib Naeemi, PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry and others also addressed the moot.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that Islam was spread in the sub-continent with the efforts of Sufis who preached love, tolerance and unity. He said while following the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Muslims could get united and earn success and stated that the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a role model for us. He said the way Ulema seemed united on this event the country could turn into a Madina-like state if similar spirit was shown by them at the national level. Raja Nasir Abbas, head of MWM in his address on the occasion, said the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is a month of blessing for us. He said cruel forces at the global level were led by enemy and its agents were striving to create rifts in the ranks of the Muslims but this conspiracy wouldn’t succeed.
