Engineering student found murdered

LAHORE: A student of engineering, who recently qualified from University of Lahore Raiwind Campus, was found murdered on Friday, two days after he went missing. Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy and started investigations. The victim has been identified as Umar, 27, a resident of Taxila Cantt. Investigation Officer Altaf said the victim had visited the university on August 12 to collect his degree. After collecting degree, he departed for bus stop at Thokhar Niaz Beg, but never reached home. The family of the victim got perturbed and informed police. Police started tracing the victim. The IO said that last location at his cell phone was Thokar Niaz Beg. On Friday, police reached the location and found him dead in the drain. His body was decomposed. Police said it would be too early to say whether it was a suicide or murder.
