KARACHI: Asim Khan and Israr Ahmed will take part in the 22nd Asian Junior Squash Individual Championships to be held in Iran from August 23 to 27.
“The duo was selected for this championship. They will now leave on the 21st. But we are having visa issues for Israr because he would also feature in the Commonwealth Youth Games,” said Secretary Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Amir Nawaz.
The CYG are taking place on the Pacific island nation of Samoa from September 5-11.
“We had to apply for visas for Israr and Sadia 60 days before the CYG, so Israr’s passport is stuck with them. We will now request the Iranian officials to issue visa to Israr on the photocopy of his passport,” added Amir.
He said hopefully this issue would be resolved and Israr would be able to play both the Asian Junior and CYG. The Games program includes both individual and doubles events.
