KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organised a mango show in Islamabad to display a variety of Pakistani mangoes to the diplomatic community, a statement said on Monday.
Chief executive TDAP SM Muneer, in his address, gave a detailed overview of Pakistan’s mango production, varieties and role of TDAP in promoting export of mangoes. He highlighted that Pakistan successfully exported mango to Europe last year despite strict requirements of the markets in the region. Pakistan has also successfully exported Mangoes to Japan.
Dean of Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador of Argentina attended the show along with ambassadors of Japan, South Korea, France, Russia, UAE, US Economic Counsellor and Canadian Economic Counsellor.
Secretary TDAP Rabiya Javeri Agha, in her address, gave a brief overview of the activities of TDAP. She explained the steps taken by TDAP to improve the exports of mango from Pakistan.
Other diplomats, who participated in the mango show, also appreciated the sweetness and taste of Pakistani mangoes.
A large number of businessmen including president and senior office bearers of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) attended the event.
