IGP wants survey of madrassas in 15 days

The Sindh police chief ordered on Sunday that a fresh survey being carried out to gather accurate data about all the registered and unregistered madrassas in the province should be completed within 15 days.
In a meeting held at the Central Police Office to the review police progress in connection with the National Action Plan, IGP Ghulam Hyder Jamali also instructed the logistics AIG to ensure that the Special Branch was provided with the required resources so that it could finish the geo-tagging of the province’s seminaries within a month.
The police chief directed his subordinate officials to ensure that strict monitoring was under way for hate speeches, distribution of hate material and wall chalking.
He told them to arrest and register cases against those involved in such activities pursuing the provisions of the National Action Plan.

Banned outfit members
The IGP sought a list of members of banned outfits who presently out on bail and ordered that foolproof mechanism should be devised to monitor their present activities.
He also reviewed the mechanism of monitoring people on the 4th schedule (terrorist watch list).
It was decided that proper documents would be gathered about people living in rented accommodations, hotels and guesthouses as per the requirements of the laws.
The progress of the intelligence network in terms of taking legal action against those involved in financing terrorist organisations also came under discussion.
The IGP told the special branch, the counter-terrorism department and Karachi police chief to ensure mutual coordination and also with other law enforcement agencies to achieve the goals set in the National Action Plan. He also directed to speed up the ongoing province-wide police campaign to arrest proclaimed offenders and absconders.
