FPCCI stresses on enhanced Paki-China cooperation

KARACHI: There is a need to develop a mechanism to enhance economic cooperation between Pakistan and China, FPCCI vice president said on Saturday.
In a meeting with 16 member delegation of Xinjiang province of China, the FPCCI vice president said Pak-China friendship has been molded into a comprehensive strategic partnership in trade, investment and economic development.
He said the business community is eagerly waiting for completion of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which would bring economic revolution in Pakistan and China.
While talking about the economic corridor, he said, “The CPEC would become a milestone reflecting strengthened trade and investment ties between the two countries and the huge Chinese investment in Pakistan particularly in energy sector and infrastructure will bring an economic revolution in the region.”
The head of Chinese delegation Yiming, director general of the department of commerce of Xinjiang province of China said many Pakistanis are doing business in Xinjiang province of China. Chinese investors are keen to invest more in Pakistan in different sectors including agriculture and petrochemical.
He said CPEC is an important part of China Silk road which would open new avenues of enhancing trade and commerce activities for the two countries.
He emphasized on frequent exchange of delegations between Pakistan and Xinjiang.
The meeting was also attended by Muhammad Ikram Rajput, vice president and in-charge Sindh region of FPCCI, Jawaid Khalili, chairman Pakistan China Business Council and a large number of members of Pakistan China Business Council of FPCCI (PCBC).
