KARACHI: Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) on Friday imposed life ban on Idrees Haider Khwaja for forming parallel federation.
The decision was taken in the PCF general council meeting in Islamabad.
“The general council imposed life ban on Haider Khawaja who formed a parallel cycling body in Pakistan,” a PCF news release said.
“The meeting discussed in details the anti-cycling activities of Idrees who in recent past organised a fake Tour de Punjab Cycle Race, in which he invited Afghanistan team which left the race mid-way due to Khawaja’s poor arrangements,” the release said.
Kamran Amin, Waqar Ali, Saleem Butt and Laeeq Ahmad Lucky were also banned, the PCF said.
An election commission comprising advocates Hashim Raza, Saeed and Mohammad Ali was formed who will conduct the PCF elections in near future.
As per advice of the international cycling governing body (UCI), necessary amendments to the PCF constitution were also approved.
