LAHORE
Cloudy weather continued to prevail over the provincial metropolis on Thursday while for Friday (today) the MET office predicted similar weather conditions.
As per MET office report, seasonal low lies over the northwest of Balochistan. Well marked low pressure laid over the north Rajasthan (India) is weakening gradually. Under the influence of this low pressure, monsoon currents are penetrating into the central parts of the country. Some deflected monsoon currents are already passing along the Himalaya and penetrating into Kashmir and adjoining areas.
It said scattered rain thundershower with isolated heavy fall is expected in Bahawalpur, Multan, D.G.Khan, Sahiwal, Dera Ismail Khan and Zhob divisions. Similarly, isolated rain thundershower is also likely in Sibbi, Nasirabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad,Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Larkana, Sukkur divisions and Kashmir.
For the next 48 hours, Met office predicted that scattered rain thundershower was expected in the upper Punjab including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal divisions, Islamabad, upper and central Khyber-Pakhtunkha (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions), Kashmir and upper Fata. Isolated heavy falls are also likely in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Zhob, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions, Upper Fata and Kashmir during Saturday’s evening/night.
Rainfall was recorded at various cities including Dhaleli (64 mm), Khanpur (39 mm), Bahawalnagar (25 mm), Parachinar (20 mm), Barkhan (19 mm), R.Y.Khan (18 mm), Kot Addu (15 mm), Nagarparkar (14 mm), Layyah (10 mm), Dadu and Kotli (09 mm each), Zhob (08 mm), Jhelum and Bahawalpur (06 mm each) , Larkana and D.G.Khan (04 mm each), Khuzdar (03 mm), Multan (02 mm), Bhakkar, Dera Ismail Khan and Mangla (01 mm each).
