The flagship project of the Roots International Schools — Metropolitan International University College (MIUC) — held an orientation and counselling session at the Wellington Campus for briefing students on study programmes offered by the MIUC, says a press release.
The main purpose of the session was to create awareness among students about the LLB programme of the University of London. Almost 100 students participated in the session. Walid Mushtaq, CEO of the Roots International Schools, organised the session.
The chief guest on the occasion was Saad Wasim, country manager of the University of London. The guest speakers included faculty members of the LLB programme — Saad Hassan, Salman Zafar and Syeda Mehak Irum.
The event started with the welcome note by the chief guest. Sundas Khan, a former student of the University of London, shared her experience at the University of London. She guided students about the law careers they could pursue like forensic, political, legislature and medico-legal officers.
Shaista Owais, principal of the Wellington Campus, briefed students on the orientation session. “We are here to assist you and serve as an advocate by providing resources to connect you to the world of opportunities as you navigate and shift to campus life,” she said.
Noor Raza Cheema, guidance counselor and manager of the Global Reach, School Links and International Placements, and Anum Iqbal, coordinator of the Undergraduate Programme, briefed about scholarships and admission process.
Noor Raza Cheema also held an activity session for the students of LLB. They were given a case study in groups and they were assessed to come up with appropriate solutions. The faculty members judged the case studies presentation and groups were given first and second prizes.
