Police have re-arrested a Central Asian woman, who escaped from police custody in District Courts (F-8 Markaz) on Monday when she was being produced before the court of law for her judicial remand, police sources said.
Ms Mathya Kabova, belonging to Azerbaijan, was arrested during a crackdown and police registered a case against her under 14 Foreigners Act.
ASI Sadiq took her without getting assistance from policewomen to produce her before the court, police said. They added that she staged the drama of heart attack when she was being taken to the court and fell unconscious. ASI Sadiq rushed to bring drinking water from a nearby restaurant but she, taking advantage of ASI’s absence, slipped away from the scene.
The entire police force sprang into action putting all efforts to re-arrest the woman on the warning given by the interior minister and finally hunted her down from a hideout.
