SOFIA: Maria Sharapova and boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov have split up after dating for over two years, Dimitrov confirmed to Bulgarian media over the weekend.
“Our paths parted,” Bulgarian tennis star Dimitrov told www.tenniskafe.com website after rumours about the break-up surfaced on social media.
“We lived through wonderful moments together. I wish her much happiness and success in life and tennis,” he said, adding that this was “the summer of a new beginning” for him.
Dimitrov, 24, who is number 16 in the world rankings, has had a difficult season and also parted ways with his coach Roger Rasheed earlier in July.
“Now I am fully concentrated on my game and I am sure the results will be visible soon,” the Bulgarian added.
