Munda Dam

According to media reports, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved the Munda Dam on the Swat river. The dam, in addition to generating 740MW electricity, will also irrigate 15,000 acres of land in the Mohmand Agency and the Charsadda district. The dam will also help control floods in Charsadda, Peshawar and Nowshera districts.
Moreover, it has been reported that the French government has agreed to provide financial assistance for the project. Both the federal and provincial governments are requested to accord special attention to this project and undertake its construction and help reap its benefits at the earliest.
