Drive against substandard transport for students
LAHORE: IGP Capt Arif Nawaz (retd) directed the additional IG Traffic Punjab Farooq Mazhar to begin a two-week special campaign against the substandard transport for students. The campaign will continue till September 26 starting from 12th while joint teams were formed across the province in collaboration with transport department, Regional Transport Authority, and Motor Transport Examiner to successfully implement the drive. These teams will inspect vehicles across all the districts and FIRs will be registered against unlicensed, unauthorised and substandard vehicles. During the campaign; schools administrations and local administration will also be sensitised about traffic laws, and hazards/accidents involved in the use of substandard vehicles.
