PML-Q assures embattled Buzdar of support

LAHORE: Acting Governor Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at the CM office here Thursday and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, welfare projects and works and betterment of working relationship.

Both the leaders agreed on improving working relationship for the welfare and well-being of the people of the province and that they would continue working together for the progress and prosperity of the people. During the meeting, unconstitutional and illegal acts of India to change special status of Held Kashmir and oppression on the Kashmiri people were strongly condemned. Both the leaders expressed complete solidarity with oppressed people of Held Kashmir. Talking on this occasion, the CM said that together we will continue serving the people and take the ally party along. He said that not concerned about criticism, moving ahead with agenda to serve the people, opposition was doing politics on non-issues, fundamental needs and people’s priorities were ignored during Shahbaz Sharif era.

He said that we are doing such works for public welfare which the former rulers could not do in 10 years, time to please the people with hollow slogans has passed, due to wrong priorities in the past huge loss was caused to the people of the province, instead of relief people were given pain, the PTI government had for the first time set right the peoples priorities, our intention is good and direction right, Pakistan has started treading on the path of change, new local government system will give new direction to the public service, local government system is being streamlined on new lines by devolving powers down to the real representatives of the people, PTI government is bringing about such local government system which provide relief to the people.

This is noteworthy that Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is also the Parliamentary leader of his party with 10 MPAs in the House of 371.

The 10 MPAs of PML-Q hold the key of Buzdar government, comprising around 180 PTI MPAs which may lose majority in case Q withdraws its support. In order to attain simple majority in the House, the government needs 186 MPAs. These days the government of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is under criticism over the issue of governance, particularly the incidents of police atrocities have invited severe criticism on the government. Pervaiz Elahi’s meeting with Sardar Usman Buzdar and the pledge to support his government has come as a respite for the PTI and the CM himself.

Kashmir: Usman Buzdar has said that India is continuously violating all laws in Held Kashmir and has turned the valley into a hell for the oppressed Kashmiris through prolonged curfew and siege.

He said Indian premier Narendra Modi had become the Yazid of today, but his era of oppression would come to an end soon.

He said the silence of the international community on continuous Indian oppression and brutalities against Kashmiris could result in a human tragedy and added that the world nations would have to wake up from their slumber soon.

In a media statement issued here, the CM said India could not oppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris and all brutalities and cunningness of the Modi government had been exposed fully before the world. He said India had violated democratic norms in Held Kashmir and Modi's Hitlerism would devastate India.

The freedom struggle of Kashmiris would bear fruit and they would succeed very soon in winning their freedom, he added.

The CM said Pakistan had successfully projected the core issue of Kashmir and Prime Minister Imran Khan was fighting the Kashmir case as an ambassador of Kashmir. The world opinion was being moulded in favour of the oppressed Kashmiris, he added.

Buzdar said Kashmir was the jugular vein of Pakistan and the country was incomplete without it. Both Pakistan and Kashmir were one and would remain so forever, he concluded.
