The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority’s (KPPSRA) decision to withdraw own 13 notifications and circulars, especially those about summer vacation fee and sibling concessions has caused great confusion and unrest to parents as the case is already under trial at the high court.
The court has already granted stay in the case, asking parents not to deposit vacation fee until 24th of this month, a date fixed for the next hearing of the case. The schools’ regulatory authority, on the other hand, issued a notification the other day, withdrawing almost all the notifications and circulars issued by the previous heads of the authority especially those providing relief to parents and put some burden on the private schools.
The decision has caused great unrest to the parents, who have criticized the government for its failure to implement own decision. Some of the parents even accused the authority of getting huge bribes from the private schools for withdrawing the notification, which the government had repeatedly claimed to implement come what may. The parents are now confused about whether or not to deposit the vacations’ fee or wait for the PHC’s decision. The private schools, on the other hand, have been forcing the students to deposit the vacation fee. Most of the school have already collected the fee.
