The Millennium Chinese Language Department (MCLD) participated in the ten-day Beijing International Students Summer Camp on the invitation of the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Islamabad, says a press release issued here on Wednesday.
Almost 1,000 students from 24 countries across the globe participated in the summer camp hosted by the Beijing International Education Exchange and organised by Madam Bao, chief of the Women’s Wing and wife of the Chinese ambassador in Islamabad.
Mrs. Erum Atif, principal of the Roots Millennium School, Wahid Campus, F-10/2, represented the RMS as the head of the delegation.
Pakistani students made the opening speech and students of the Roots Millennium School accepted the flag of Pakistan at the opening ceremony.
Students attended language classes, cultural activity classes, visited significant historical places, climbed the Great Wall, tasted roasted duck, enjoyed Chinese tea and visited famous art and science museums. It was a colourful learning experience to understand and see the rich Chinese culture. The RMS students interacted with participants across the globe, made Chinese friends and had a memorable experience by having a people-to-people contact thereby strengthening the bond between Pakistan and China.
