PTI take out rally today to express solidarity with Kashmiris
ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will take out a rally from Rawalpindi to Islamabad today (Wednesday), the Independence Day, to show solidarity with the people of Indian Held Kashmir (IHK), facing brutalities of the occupation forces.
PTI Secretary General Aamir Mehmood Kyani told a news conference here that the event was being organised on the directive of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He explained the Independence Day rally would start from Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi at 3:pm and culminate at Islamabad's D Chowk around 6:pm, where the party leadership would deliver speeches. Kiani pointed out that the party’s top leadership including federal and provincial ministers, members of the national and provincial assemblies and party workers would participate in the rally. The event was planned, he continued, to give a strong message to India and the international community that the Pakistani nation was united and would not leave the people of held Kashmir alone at this critical juncture of their struggle.
He maintained the brutal Indian forces could not suppress the indigenous struggle launched by the people of Kashmir for their legitimate right to self-determination in line with the resolutions of the United Nations' Security Council. He added Kashmiris would not agree to anything less than their right to self-determination. PTI leader noted that Kashmiris were fighting for what he called their birthright for the last 70 years and expressed confidence that Kashmir would soon become a part of Pakistan.
He said the international community had expressed their deep concern over the prevailing situation in IHK especially after revocation by New Delhi of Articles 370 and 35-A of the Indian constitution. Pakistan, he noted, had approached the international community to highlight miseries of people of Kashmir and massive human rights violations by brutal Indian forces in IHK. He continued that people of Kashmir had great attachment with Pakistan and its people.
