Bank official booked for Rs8.8m fraud

NOWSHERA: The police Thursday booked an operational manager of a private bank for fraudulently withdrawing Rs8.8 million from automated teller machines (ATM).
Lodging complaint, Manager of the Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) Nowshera Cantonment Board Branch, Kamran Khattak told the police that Muhammad Furqanullah was an operational manager at the bank.He said that the officer used to load money into the ATM machines of the bank. He said that the accused embezzled Rs6 million by tampering with the ATM record and making wrong entries to the machines during his one year service.
He said that Furqanullah had also embezzled another Rs2.8 through the same tactics from another branch of MCB in Akora Khattak in Nowshera.The police lodged two separate cases against the accused and started investigation.
