BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of acres of crops were inundated and several houses were damaged when a 100-feet wide breach occurred in the Hakrra Canal near Basti Dangarran Wali near Bahawalnagar on Sunday.
People of the area including farmers staged a demonstration against the Irrigation Department as no official reached to the spot to fill the breach. Later, locals started to fill the breach on self-help basis.
