Boys and girls share top positions

Boys and girls shared top positions in the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education secondary school certificate-II (matriculation) examination 2015, whose results were announced on Saturday night.
The overall pass percentage in the exam, which took place in March and April this year, was 76.7. The results were declared during a special ceremony at the FBISE main offices in Islamabad, where Minister of the State for Federal Education and Professional Training Engineer Muhammad Balighur Rehman, FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik, Federal Directorate of Education Director General Shahnaz Anjum Riaz, MNAs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Malik Abrar, and senior relevant officials were in attendance. According to the exam results, 78,915 candidates, including both regular and private, sat the examination and 60,517 of them were declared successful. Sauid Tariq Balghari of Islamabad Model College for Boys, F-8/4, from Science Group clinched first position by securing 1,035 marks. The second position was shared by Aqdas Hussain of Hazma Army Public School and College, Rawalpindi, and Samiya Basit of Hitec School and College for Girls, Taxila, with 1,032 marks, while the third position was also shared by Roha Ashfaq of Army Public School and College for Girls Range Road, Westridge III, Rawalpindi, and Wajeeha Amir of Army Public School and College for Girls 56-A, the Mall, Peshawar Cantonment, with 1,030 marks each.
In humanities group, Sufana Shfiq of Viqarun Nisa Noon Girls, Higher Secondary Institute, Jahangir Road, Rawalpindi, bagged first position by securing 977 marks. Wajid Ali of Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel F.A, Islamabad, and Samiyah Aymen of Islamabad Model School for Girls, F-7/2 shared second position with 953 marks. The third position went to Javeria Faiz of Anam Public School and Girls College Rawal Town, Rawalpindi Cantonment, who obtained 951 marks.
